St. Patrick's Day open air celebrations in Bucharest

March 17th, 5 p.m., Bucharest, Historical Center (Lipscani)

For the fifth time in Romania St. Patrick’s Day will be celebrated in open air. Just as the last two editions, the event will take place on March 17th 2012 in Bucharest’s old historical center (Selari-Franceza).

St. Patrick’s Day, Ireland’s national holiday has been celebrated for the first time in open air in 2008 in Romania. The first two editions toke place at km 0 in Piata Universitatii than in 2010 the location was moved just a few hundreds of meters away to the old historical center.

The event attracts hundreds of spectators but during the three-hour show thousands of people stop by and join in for a minute. During these years the Shannon Ceili Band, the Irish Way dancers and Celtic-rock band Blackbeers performed on the open-air stage. This year's special guests are Hungarian bagpipers Bordo Sarkany and The Amazing Apples from Ireland.

A 7x4m mesh will be mounted on the back of the stage; it will contain the logo-s of the sponsors and partners.

Main sponsor of the event is Guinness, Ireland’s favorite stout beer but we are also looking for other sponsors.

Cost of silver package is 500 Euro. Sponsors and partners will be presented during the show and in press releases, their logo-s will be inserted on the mesh that will be mounted on the stage, posters and flyers distributed in Bucharest downtown; the image of the posters will be published in SapteSeri and Stop to Shop and on several web-sites.
